Update your profile page – why and how
It is important to keep your profile page updated. When someone is searching for your name and Uppsala university on Google, the first hit they will get is the Uppsala University catalogue entry, that is your profile page. It should contain at least some basic data and you need to activate a few fields for them to show up.
Log in to the profile page editor from ‘My page’ on mp.uu.se. You will find it to the right under ‘Wage statement’. Once on your profile page, click ‘Edit profile’ just under ‘Search’ in the top right corner.
Photo
It is always a good idea to have a photo of yourself on your profile page.
Lead paragraph & Biography
Under one of these sub-headings, you should at least have a link to your department page, programme page or group page on the University website, so people searching for you can find more information about your work.
If you do not have a personal UU-page (or instead of this) you can use the profile page as your personal web page.
Publications
Here you just need to go in and edit the privacy settings. This activates the list. There are privacy settings for almost all different parts of the profile page and it is recommended to set them as public as possible and keep the content thereafter.
Keywords
It is a good idea to use the keyword feature. Not many at the University have started using them yet and they will help bring you to the top of the search results when someone is searching for those particular words on the University website.
Courses
Here you need to activate the list by choosing what type of teaching you want to be shown and also change the privacy settings. Sometime it takes a while before anything shows up, it may take up to one day.

Here you can choose to show other ways of reaching you. These are only visible to people who are logged in. If you want them to be seen by external people, it is better to place links in one of the text boxes.
