Ongoing research
In the MCC-group, human genes hypothesized to be involved in higher brain functions are investigated in human biological samples from patients and control individuals. These genes are then functionally investigated in vivo using zebrafish as a model system. The research group’s primary focus is on how specific temporal and spatial changes in gene expression during development regulate inter- and intra-cellular processes and how these biological events tune cognitive abilities in an organism.
