Hedberg Lab

My research focusses on the uppermost parts of the high East African mountains where my husband, Olov Hedberg, started his scientific career many years ago. The botanical/ecological research at that altitude (above 3500 m) in the tropics offer many pure scientific problems, not least evolutionary, but is also important as a base for conservation measures. It is an extremely interesting environment where the plants are adapted to a climate with “summer every day and winter every night”. I have also been responsible for the Flora of Ethiopia, which is now available in 8 volumes and which I prepare for a web version.
